Exhibition
Our club mission to provide opportunities for, and to promote the work of, our professional artist members is specifically addressed by our annual Members’ Exhibition. Once again this years’ show was held in the heart of Soho at the Broome Street Gallery for three weeks from April 4 to April 24. Members from across the country exhibited their works in sculpture, oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, graphite, mixed-media, pen and ink, and graphics. All 88 works were shown off to their full advantage by the masterly hanging and arranging talents of Lucille Berrill Paulsen, Holly Meeker Rom and Joyce Zeller. Many people visited the gallery during those three weeks, and were greeted by professional gallery sitters.

Thirteen awards were presented at a reception on Saturday, April 9. Over 75 artists, visitors and guests enjoyed the buffet and wine bar provided by Marsha Tosk. CLWAC President Lucille Paulsen presented the awards. The judges, all previous Horse’s Head winners themselves, voted the Anna Hyatt Huntington Bronze Horse’s Head award for Best Painting to Cheryl Griesbach for “Paradise Lost,” and the Anna Hyatt Huntington Bronze Horse’s Head Award for Best Sculpture to Yupin Pramotepipop for “Ron.” The other award winners were: Elizabeth Torak, first-oil/acrylic; Carolyn Hesse-Low, second-oil/acrylic; Judith Betts, first- water media; Anne Chaddock, second-watermedia; Karen Whitman, first-graphics; Ruth Rieber, second-graphics; Margaret Williams-McGowan, first-pastel; Jacquelyn Cattaneo, second-pastel; Lee Hutt, first-sculpture; Priscilla Heep, second-sculpture; and Kathy Fieramosca, The Margaret Dole Portrait Award. The People's Choice Award, donated by American Artist Magazine, went to Karen Whitman.
Co-chairwomen Holly Meeker Rom and Joyce Zeller wish to extend their gratitude to all the members who helped make the event a success.
