Carolyn H. Pedersen

 

A native of upstate New York and a graduate of Syracuse University, Carolyn studied Watercolor with Edgar A. Whitney, ANA, AWS, Painting with Bruce Dorfman and Paul Wood, and Printmaking with Roberto DeLamonica of the Art Students League.

Carolyn works in series, allowing an idea to evolve over time.  The works pictured here are a current series exploring the use of shapes and saturated color in action to evoke the viewer’s emotional identity with life’s power and essence.

A signature member of the National Watercolor Society, as well as the Mid-West Watercolor Society, Association of Women Artists, Audubon Artists and the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, her award-winning paintings have been on exhibit in museums and shown in national exhibitions throughout the country.  She has served as a juror for regional and national shows, was an adjunct professor at Seton Hall University and the College of New Rochelle.  She currently teaches privately and conducts workshops around the country.  Her work is in private, corporate and public collections throughout the United States.  Carolyn is a founding member of the Piermont Fine Arts Gallery in Piermont, New York, and is also affiliated with the Peel Gallery in Derby, Vermont.

She is listed in Who’s Who in American Art , as well as Mantle Fielding’s Dictionary of American Painters, Sculptors and Engravers .  Her work has been included in the Northlight Publication, Splash-America’s Best Contemporary Watercolors , 1991;  The Best of Watercolor , 1995;  and Floral Inspirations , 1997, Rockport Publishers;  The Artistic Touch 3 , 1999, Creative Arts Press; and in the Northlight Publication , Splash 6 , 2000.
