Susan E. Roden

Susan E. Roden’s goal is to impact all with the beauty of life in its expressive moods, with a wide range of subject matter. Cropped uniquely and set in a minimalist composition, one is touched by the simplicity of the scene. Her objective is not to focus on the primary
object, yet the minute intricacies of all components comprised within the pictorial plane. Hence, the viewer is drawn to the subtleties of the typical, unobserved facets of life rendered in a painterly fashion.

Roden has exhibited extensively in national / international juried shows, with the Medal of Honor for pastels awarded in 1994 by the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club. She was the recipient of a merit award from The Pastel Journal’s “Third Annual Pastel 100” and Southwest Art Magazine cited Roden art as Collector’s Choice for pastels in 2005.

With her art gracing the cover, a depiction of Roden’s technique with accompanied images were published in a 2002 issue of the Pastel Artist International Magazine. Her work has also been featured in Décor & Style and San Diego Home & Garden Magazines.

She is represented by prominent galleries of the West and additional paintings may be viewed on the galleries websites at: www.artisok.com, www.patriciandesign.com, www.sharpgallery.net and www.tirageart.com.

Susan E. Roden is a juried member of the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, signature member of the Pastel Society of New Mexico and member of the California Art Club.
