Born and raised in Philadelphia, Jean also spent several years living in California. Jean studied at the University of The Arts majoring in Illustration. She became a greeting card designer and then continued her studies with noted professional watercolorists. Teaching students led Jean into conducting National and International workshops including Australia, England, Bermuda and Hawaii. Jean's work has been represented in National juried shows earning her 7 signature memberships including AWS and NWS. She has won 5 gold medals among many other prestigious awards. She has received awards in the AWS annual and also served as a juror for their annual show. She is listed in "Who's who in American Art". Her works have been published in: American Artist "Watercolor 94"- "Watercolor For The Serious Beginner", 98- "Splash #5", 98- and "The Best of Flower Painting #2, 99. She has authored a chapter for "Watercolor Landscape Techniques of 23 International Artists", 04. Jean is also the author of "Bright & Beautiful Flowers in Watercolor", North Light Books, 04. Jean's floral and landscape paintings reflect her love of color and design. She is noted for her use of transparent pigments. Her upcoming workshops include New Jersey, Maryland, Missouri and California.
