Angela Stratton sought her education in the masters tradition of academic realism at The Reilly League of Artist Inc. under Cesare Borgia; to include Portrait, Figure, Picture making, Still Life and Landscapes in various mediums and styles with particular emphasis on oil techniques. The masters have a strong impact on her work but she adheres to expressing her own personal presentation of painting. Art is Angela’s passion - she continues independent studies through various Workshops and Demonstration Lecture series, as she believes an art education is a lifetime adventure.
Since 1978 Angela has built an impressive body of work, and exhibits in the tri-state area in juried and group shows. Her works hang in private collections in the US, Puerto Rico, England, and Hong Kong. She is currently affiliated with Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, Salmagundi Club, American Artists Professional League, Audubon Artists, Inc. , Portrait Society of America, Huntington Arts Council, Suburban Art League, Art League of Nassau County, C. L. Wolfe Art Club, Setauket Artist Group, Art League of LI. and Gallery North, Setauket, NY
As an award winning artist, her achievements are not limited to painting alone, she continues to find many rewards teaching drawing and painting to teens and adults. Whether working in her studio alone, or in painting/sketch groups, or outdoors, she loves being able to dedicate each and every day to the ‘art of creating’.
